Mantle Addresses rsETH Incident: Network and Core Assets Remain Secure, Collaborating with Aave on Recovery Plan

BroadChainBroadChainTime: 2026-04-21 16:30

BroadChain has learned that at 16:30 on April 21, according to TechFlow, the Mantle team issued a latest statement regarding the KelpDAO rsETH incident on April 21, confirming that its underlying network, official bridge, and core assets remain 100% secure. LayerZero has confirmed that the vulnerability is limited to KelpDAO's rsETH configuration and has not affected other assets or applications, nor has the attacker interacted with Mantle contracts or markets. The recent localized liquidity pressure has been attributed to the spillover effects of a third-party cross-chain vulnerability, not an issue with Mantle's infrastructure. The current protective pause measures will be lifted when conditions are appropriate. Data shows that since April 18, funds have been flowing back into the Mantle ecosystem, with core USD assets repaying approximately $204 million within 48 hours. Liquidity continues to recover, demonstrating the resilience of the community. Mantle is actively coordinating recovery plans with the Aave team and related protocols, including an assessment of potential treasury support, and has stated that it will continue to stand alongside ecosystem builders and provide updates on substantive progress.
