North Korean Hackers Utilize Cross-Chain Protocol to Transfer Stolen KelpDAO Assets
BroadChain has learned that at 17:16 on April 21, according to PANews, on-chain detective ZachXBT's monitoring data shows that the North Korean hacker group, which previously stole approximately $29 million from the KelpDAO and LayerZero vulnerabilities, has initiated cross-chain transfers of some assets. Among them, about $1.5 million was transferred from the Ethereum mainnet to the Bitcoin network via Thorchain, and approximately $78,000 was transferred through the privacy protocol Umbra. This move indicates that the hackers are attempting to launder the stolen funds using decentralized cross-chain bridges and privacy tools to increase the difficulty of tracking the funds.
