Singapore Police and Exchanges Intercept Over S$2.86 Million in Cryptocurrency Scam Funds in One Month

  BroadChain learned that on April 25 at 14:45, the Singapore Police Anti-Scam Centre, in collaboration with the Cyber Investigation Department and cryptocurrency exchanges such as Coinbase and Coinhako, conducted a month-long anti-scam operation from March 16 to April 15.

  Using on-chain analysis tools like Chainalysis and TRM Labs, law enforcement investigated scam types including impersonation of public officials, investments, online dating, and job recruitment. They executed over 90 offline and remote interventions, successfully intercepting more than 2.86 million Singapore dollars in illicit funds. The police stated that efficient cross-agency and government-enterprise information sharing was key to the operation, and they will continue to strengthen cooperation to normalize the prevention of cryptocurrency-related scams.
