Kelp DAO Suffers $292 Million Attack, Cross-Chain Wrapped ETH Trapped Across 20 Chains

BroadChain has learned that at 05:16 on April 19, according to CoinDesk, an attacker drained approximately 116,500 rsETH from Kelp DAO's LayerZero-based cross-chain bridge on Saturday, accounting for about 18% of its circulating supply. This incident has left around $292 million worth of wrapped Ethereum assets stranded across 20 different blockchains. In response, multiple DeFi protocols including Aave, SparkLend, Fluid, and Upshift have initiated emergency freeze measures.
