BroadChain learned that at 09:30 on April 24, blockchain analyst Yujin (@EmberCN) disclosed on April 24 that the rsETH attack incident on April 18 caused a funding gap of approximately 68,900 ETH (about $160 million). The hacker borrowed 99,600 ETH by collateralizing rsETH. After Arbitrum recovered 30,700 ETH, the remaining funds were all converted into BTC by the hacker.
Currently, the incident has entered the remediation phase. Aave has taken the lead in establishing the "DeFi United" rescue fund, which has received a total of 13,500 ETH (approximately $31.45 million) in donations. Donors include Lido Finance (2,500 stETH), ether.fi Foundation (5,000 ETH), Aave founder Stani Kulechov (5,000 ETH), Golem Foundation (1,000 ETH), as well as LayerZero and Ink Foundation (amount undisclosed).
