BroadChain has learned that on March 20, Nasdaq-listed company Eightco (NASDAQ: ORBS) announced an additional $40 million investment in OpenAI, bringing its total commitment to the AI firm to $90 million.
Beyond its equity stake in OpenAI, Eightco's portfolio includes approximately 277.2 million WLD tokens, 11,068 ETH, and a combined $76 million in cash and stablecoins.
With nearly 10% of WLD's circulating supply, Eightco is the largest publicly traded participant in the Worldcoin (WLD) ecosystem.
The company recently secured a $125 million investment commitment, led by a $75 million round from Bitmine, with ARK Invest committing at least $25 million.
Following the investment, Eightco has appointed Bitmine's Chairman, Tom Lee, to its Board of Directors.
