This Spring Festival will undoubtedly be unforgettable for all Chinese people!
From January 24 to today—exactly 10 days—we have experienced the outbreak of the Wuhan virus epidemic during what should have been a joyful Spring Festival holiday.
Upon learning immediately that our relatives and friends working in Wuhan hospitals were risking their lives on the frontlines under extremely difficult conditions, we promptly purchased a batch of medical supplies. Soon after, we realized the overwhelming demand for medical supplies at the frontline—and how limited our individual capacity was.
Thus, we decided to launch a fundraising campaign to mobilize broader support for Wuhan. As a blockchain company, to ensure greater transparency and credibility for this campaign, we chose to conduct the fundraising on-chain via ERC-20 tokens. All donors can contribute USDT on-chain and collectively participate in this public welfare initiative.
What moved us deeply is that, within these mere 10 days, friends joined immediately—and over one hundred enthusiastic peers from the same industry, many of whom we had never met before, also stepped forward. Together, we donated funds, brainstormed solutions, and dozens of volunteers worked around the clock, selflessly supporting frontline medical staff.
Thanks to the joint efforts of all donors and volunteers, we have not only reached—but exceeded—our target of raising $100,000 USDT. From the official launch of the campaign on January 24 through 10:00 AM China Standard Time (CST) on February 2, we received a total of 105,566.886366 USDT in on-chain donations, plus in-kind donations valued at RMB 16,050, amounting to approximately $107,879.57 USDT in total. A total of 116 donors from the blockchain industry participated, achieving ~108% of our goal.
Therefore, effective immediately (as of February 2, 2020), we will officially suspend accepting further donations and focus entirely on procurement—ensuring every donated dollar is fully utilized. (Hence, we sincerely thank everyone’s generosity—but please refrain from sending additional funds to our address. If you do, we cannot issue refunds; any surplus funds remaining after fulfilling all commitments will be donated on your behalf to other reputable charitable foundations.)
We would also like to extend special thanks to Huobi Charity and Binance Charity Foundation, both of which have joined our 1:1 matching donation program—contributing equivalent funds or in-kind donations to support healthcare workers in the affected areas.
Within these 10 days, we screened 178 hospitals and ultimately verified and coordinated with 136 hospitals through real-name authentication. We procured medical supplies totaling $9,301.74 USD and RMB 314,292, delivering over 170,000 sets directly to hospitals and doctors—including N95 surgical masks, protective gowns, goggles, disinfectants, gloves, caps, and medical-grade hand sanitizers.
Meanwhile, throughout this entire donation process, our volunteer task force encountered unprecedented challenges and practical realities:
1. Sharp Surge in Medical Supply Prices
The most urgently needed medical supplies—especially N95-1860/1870 surgical masks—are being hoarded by certain intermediaries, driving prices up several-fold. To prevent well-intentioned donations from being exploited, we implemented strict price controls on procurement—and shifted focus toward other equally critical yet reasonably priced medical supplies.
2. Logistics Pressures
You’ve likely become familiar with terms such as “road closures,” “seizure of control,” and “suspension of deliveries.” Due to these mounting pressures, our volunteers spend each day shuttling among government agencies and regulatory bodies—to secure approvals, clear customs, and unblock transportation channels—so medical supplies reach hospitals and doctors with urgent needs as swiftly as possible. This remains our original mission—and our solemn responsibility to every donor.
3. Volunteers Gradually Returning to Their Regular Jobs
As the holiday draws to a close, volunteers must gradually return to their regular jobs. The success of this public welfare initiative owes much to their selfless, time-sensitive dedication! Our volunteers will coordinate schedules rationally—ensuring the campaign concludes thoroughly while returning to their respective workplaces in phases, continuing to contribute meaningfully to society through their professional roles.
Moving forward, our volunteers will continue accomplishing the following three key tasks:
1. We will continue procurement diligently until every donated dollar is fully utilized;
Currently, we still hold $52,819.15 USDT and RMB 185,708. Our volunteers will continue executing procurement, distribution, and delivery using these remaining funds. Additionally, we will continue assisting Huobi Charity and Binance Charity Foundation in fulfilling their respective fundraising goals.
2. After completing all donations, we will publish a comprehensive summary report—open to the public—including but not limited to the following information:
a. Detailed records of all donor contributions (cash and in-kind), along with donor recognition posters;
b. Detailed procurement records: invoices, certifications, photos, etc.;
c. Detailed logistics records: waybills, freight invoices, photos;
d. Signed receipts or photos confirming receipt by beneficiary institutions or medical units;
e. Public recognition of all volunteers behind this public welfare initiative, including volunteer appreciation posters;
f. Publication (“open-sourcing”) of internal team reflections, insights, and lessons learned—shared openly with the community.
3. Finally, based on the number of volunteers still available to support ongoing efforts, we will consider resuming acceptance of large-scale medical supply donations—and strive to continue meeting the verified needs of all previously confirmed hospitals and doctors. Meanwhile, we will also consider publicly sharing anonymized hospital demand data with other capable donor organizations, NGOs, and charitable groups.
