BroadChain has learned that Anthropic is planning a significant expansion into London, securing office space with capacity for up to 800 employees. This move comes after active efforts by the UK government to attract the U.S.-based AI company.
The expansion follows reported disagreements between Anthropic and the U.S. Department of Defense regarding the use of AI.
In a statement, Pip White, Anthropic's Head of Europe, Middle East, and North Africa, said: "The UK is home to ambitious businesses and institutions that recognize the critical importance of AI safety, as well as an exceptional concentration of AI talent."
