BroadChain News, April 28 - OKX Wallet recently launched OnchainOS and iteratively released the open Agent capability, while also introducing the Agentic Wallet. Against the backdrop of AI becoming the new user interface, the role of blockchains such as Ethereum is being reshaped. OKX Wallet VP Paul Wan engaged in a dialogue with Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin to explore the long-term trends of AI and Web3.
Vitalik pointed out that Ethereum's core functions—bulletin boards and on-chain computation—remain important in the AI era, but interaction methods will undergo drastic changes. AI acts as a user-side agent, capable of invoking multiple skills to complete complex tasks, while the blockchain becomes the natural economic layer for multi-party collaboration. Regarding L2, he emphasized the need to start from application requirements rather than simply replicating the EVM. In the future, L2 can take on privacy functions, such as Tornado Cash.
On the relationship between humans and Agents, Vitalik believes that humans remain the users, with AI replacing the UI. On-chain identity should only expose necessary information through zero-knowledge proofs, making it feasible to build a unified framework. Agent products need to be intuitive and easy to use, privacy-secure, and represent user interests. The development direction of wallets should integrate full-stack AI, avoiding reliance on third-party servers.
Regarding the mechanism for public goods, Vitalik emphasized that humans are always at the core. AI and ZK offer new possibilities but increase attack costs. Agent-native standards have not yet been determined, but ZK Payments and ZK API are key directions, ensuring that each request is private and isolated. OKX Wallet stated that it will continue to explore standards such as ERC-4337 and EIP-7579, and monitor progress on EIP-8141.
