BroadChain News, April 26, 02:00, according to The Defiant, Aave service provider TokenLogic submitted a proposal on April 24, requesting Aave DAO to donate 25,000 ETH from its treasury to help cover the funding gap caused by the attack on Kelp DAO's rsETH bridge on April 18. If approved, Aave will become the largest single donor to the "DeFi United" alliance, which includes members such as EtherFi, Lido, Ethena, and Mantle.
The attack on April 18 stole 152,577 rsETH from Kelp's LayerZero bridge adapter, resulting in an initial gap of approximately 163,183 ETH. Subsequent recovery measures have narrowed the gap: Kelp froze about 43,168 ETH tokens, the Arbitrum Security Council froze 30,766 ETH held by the attacker, and liquidation of the attacker's positions on Aave and Compound is expected to recover an additional 14,168 ETH. The current remaining funding gap is approximately 75,081 ETH.
