BroadChain has learned that as of April 12, data from Arkham and a report by The Information indicate SpaceX holds 8,285 BTC in its Coinbase Prime custodial account, with a current value of approximately $603 million.
While this marks a significant drop from its peak valuation of over $1.6 billion in October 2025, SpaceX's Bitcoin holdings themselves have not changed.
An analysis of transaction records by CoinDesk reveals the last major movement was about four months ago, involving a rebalancing operation that transferred 614 BTC and 1,021 BTC between internal SpaceX wallets. The company's Bitcoin balance has remained steady since mid-2024.
SpaceX is now the world's fourth-largest known corporate holder of Bitcoin, following Strategy, MARA, and Riot.
With SpaceX having filed for an IPO, its Bitcoin holdings will be disclosed in public filings for the first time. These assets may also be subject to fair-value accounting under the new FASB standards set to take effect at the end of 2025.
